The DGR Unit of Lagos University Teaching Hospital is annexed off site at Harvey Road Yaba, which is 10 – 15 mins from the main hospital at Idi-araba.
The DGR clinic attends to an average of 180 – 200 patients weekly. This comprises of 80 – 100 new dermatology, genitourinary and rheumatology patients weekly and the others are follow up patients.
The DGR Unit is a vibrant and rapidly expanding unit with a multispecialty collaboration. There are three Dermatology Consultants and 5 Specialist Dermatology Residents (SR); Two Rheumatology Consultants and 1 Specialist Rheumatology Resident (SR); in addition to Registrars and House Officers posted to the Unit rotating every three months.
Patients requiring a consultation should ideally be referred from their primary doctor, hospital or from other specialists at LUTH; however, patients can walk in and secure an appointment booking.
To ease the long waiting appointment dates to see the Specialists at the DGR Clinic, we have recently introduced the Triaging system and ANY patient with their referral letter can walk in between 8 – 10am on Monday, Tuesday or Friday and they will be attended to. Effective April 1st, 2018

Nail biopsy or avulsion
Intra articular injection
Electrocautery and chemical peeling
Patients requiring in-patient care are admitted to the medical wards of the main hospital at Idi-araba.
